Interreg NWE : the first verdict is in !
The results of the pre- projects submitted as part of the priority axis “Innovation” of the transnational cooperation program North-West Europe are now available. This program is co- funded 60 % by the ERDF.
Off the 82 pre-projects submitted in Step 1, only 19 were selected for Step 2. Eurasanté and Nutrition Health Longevity cluster (NHL) are involved in two of them as operator partners:
– FOOD-FIT, in which NHL cluster is associated, aims to improve innovation performance and competitiveness of agro-food SMEs in the NWE region in the market of healthy ageing. With a budget up to € 4.35 million for a period of three and a half years, FOOD-FIT gathers organizations able to mobilize a broad innovation network of food SMEs established on the transnational territory: Brainport Develoment and Food Valley (Netherlands), Deutsches Institut für Lebensmitteltechnik and Food Processing Initiative (Germany), Flanders’FOOD and Wagralim (Belgium), NHL cluster and Valorial (France).
– Boost4Health’s main objective is to promote the internationalization of European SMEs in the field of life sciences by creating a transnational ecosystem to help SMEs access new markets with their innovations and accelerate their growth. The project gathers academic teams, European clusters and regional economic development agencies with complementary skills and expertises : BOM- Business Development and Foreign Investments and Economic Development Agency East Netherlands , and Eurasanté ID2Santé (France) Kent County Council and Economic Solutions Ltd (UK), BioRegio Stern (Germany), Biopeople – University of Copenhagen (Denmark) , University of Liège (Belgium) and Biocat (Spain). Its total budget amounts to € 4.5 million for a period of three years and four months.
Both projects answer the same specific objective of the NWE program: to enhance innovation performance of enterprises throughout North-West Europe regions.
Full project proposals shall be submitted in Phase 2 of the cooperation program, which will end in December 2015. The final results will be announced in February 2016 for an official start of projects in March 2016.
